RANA SODHI CONGRATULATES INDIAN HOCKEY TEAM

 FOR GOOD SHOWING IN CHAMPIONS TROPHY

  • SAYS, MATTER OF PRIDE FOR PUNJAB TO CONTRIBUTE 8 PLAYERS TO NATIONAL SQUAD

CHANDIGARH, JULY 2:2018, he Sports and Youth Affairs Minister, Punjab, Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi has congratulated the Indian men's hockey team for exceptional performance in the last edition of the Champions Trophy held in Breda (Holland). The team lost the final to Australia in a nail biting finish and won the Silver Medal.

The minister said that it is the 2nd time in the history of the tournament that the Indian team has won the Silver medal. Calling Champions Trophy one of the most prestigious tournaments, the minister said that only top 6 placed teams got a chance to participate in the tournament.

Rana Sodhi further said that it was a matter of great pride that the Indian team had 8 players from Punjab in it namely Manpreet Singh, Germanpreet Singh, Ramandeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Varun Kumar, Dilpreet Singh and Simranjeet Singh.
